Competitor Scout 4.0.1
Install or update
- Extract Competitor-Scout.zip into a permanent folder.
- Existing users: export a memory backup, stop the run, replace files in the same installed extension folder, then click Reload in chrome://extensions. Keep the existing extension installed.
- New users: enable Developer mode in chrome://extensions, click Load unpacked and select the folder containing manifest.json.
- Open Scout. Use 1 Google search, 1 Bulk DA tab, Natural pacing and a batch size of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Companion extensions
This build supports desktop Chrome and Edge. Use Settings → Browser setup & companion extensions for links, or install Keywords Everywhere from its official publisher page. Buster is optional: Chrome / Edge. Install these separately in the same browser profile. Age APIs need no extra extension; add your own Ahrefs API keys in Scout. Other browsers are unverified.
Research
- Enter one keyword per line. Start with a small batch and one result page.
- Scout scans visible organic URLs and traverses overlapping viewports for lazy results. Multiple URLs share one domain check. Incomplete page traversal is reported honestly.
- Readable Google DA is retained alongside purchase messages. Missing DA from each Google page is submitted using only the native Keywords Everywhere Bulk form in one reused tab. Old table results are ignored.
- Connection failures retry with backoff and remain pending. A stalled connection shows Retry DA connection. Provider quotas keep their cooldown; verification requires completing the provider's requested step.
- Sites passing DA and age reach DR. Add one or more Ahrefs DR API keys in Settings. Green means a real successful request, amber means retry/cooldown, red means rejected, and gray means untested or disabled. Temporary errors retry through the API; persistent failures or no usable key use the website. Credential-specific quotas can use another available authorized key. Account-wide limits pause all keys until cooldown ends. The displayed source identifies API or website.
- Use All saved sites CSV/Excel to include every saved run and status, regardless of table filters. Qualified-only export and the memory backup remain available. Keys stay private in this profile and are omitted from backups.
Version 4 defaults
Age uses public registration APIs without a key. DR uses your Ahrefs keys first. Traffic runs later by default; use Continue traffic when needed. Active runs retain their selected modes. Failed API credentials receive bounded background recovery tests while website work continues, respecting provider limits. Captures save immediately; archive checkpoints reduce heavy-batch overhead.
Verification
If Google asks for verification, new Google navigation pauses. Open the retained tab and complete the checkbox/challenge yourself. If Buster is installed, click its button inside the challenge when offered. Scout cannot invoke Buster through an external solve command. The saved search resumes when its matching results page returns.
Persistent no-data or unreadable domain checks can still need review. Unknown values are never guessed. Provider account limits and normal access requirements apply; CAPTCHA and quotas are not bypassed.
